Moving-Circuit

For this project, we took an existing building within Knoxville and renovated it to meet the needs of the future business. This business would be a Panamanian-oriented store that would incorporate an interactive workspace for customers to encounter and learn about the history and process of Mola Making. The goal was to design the building based on the Mola we were given, which is the reason for movable partitions within the space and why this project is called Moving Circuit.

Natural Corridors

For this project, we were challenged with designing a tiny home underneath a freeway bridge. We were given a small amount of square footage and had a list of appliances and other amenities that were required to be incorporated into the design. The challenge with this project was determining how to orient the building to maximize space and  how to custom design elements that would piece together all of the required amenities to fit with the space. Another huge consideration was the placement of the windows to maximum natural light, as it was located under a freeway bridge.

19 Frets

For this project, we took an existing building located in downtown Knoxville and were challenged with renovating it into a live-work community. The building was sectioned into two levels with the first level being used as the retail space, which in this case was a guitar store, while the second story was designated for residential use. The residents living on the second floor would be working as employees for the retail space to help pay their rent.
