World’s Fair Park Amphitheater Re-envisioned
For this project, I was tasked with re-designing the World's Fair Park Amphitheater in Knoxville, TN. The goal was to design a tensile structure that would open up the existing space for a more breathable and spacious environment. Using Karamba3D, an interactive, parametric engineering tool, I was able to calculate the exact beam sizes needed to support the tensile structure as well as the tensile capacity for each PVC-coated polyester canopy. The simplistic look and glass arch were incorporated not only to provide ambient sunlight into the space but also to allow the adjacent greenery to play a part in the experience.
Mount Olive Elementary
Outdoor Classroom
This was a studio group project, where we were tasked with redesigning the courtyard into an outdoor classroom for the Mount Olive Elementary School in Knoxville, TN. We worked with the staff and students from the elementary to create a fun and functional design for the space. Our scope of work included as-built measurements of the site, schematic design, construction documents, and construction phases.
