Meta-Morph
After Covid, customers have come to realize how much easier it is to buy products off the internet compared to coming into a physical store, putting many stores out of business. For this project, I designed a sports store that utilized interactive spaces to allow customers to try out and rent equipment to insure it is a right fit for them. It incorporated a maker space, allowing athletes to customize equipment, and take control of their own style. Creating a retail store that allows it to morph its shape to meet the needs of certain spaces, allows for the best experience for the customers. This was accomplished by incorporating movable partitions and roof conditions that could fold in on itself to expand or shrink a space. It also helps control the acoustics in the space and protect customers from weather conditions like the sun, wind, or rain.
Structural Ascent
These Airbnb’s are being designed for the Granite Creek Campground allowing customers to stay at these cabins and adventure out to the different attractions that are scattered throughout the side of the mountain. The attractions will be accessible by trails that will branch off from each cabin.
Incorporating the wild life into the architecture will allow clients to have a more immersive experience allowing them to feel one with nature. This was done by adding curtain walls throughout most of the space, flowing the river through the interior of the building, and incorporating local materials like douglas fir wood and granite.
